Call Shifflett Tree Service for Free Estimates, Reasonable Rates and Outstanding Service

Not enough adjectives. :) From beginning to end, we were beyond pleased with this company. I really was unsure about a couple of trees on my property and received great advice about how to proceed. Two trees removed and three pruned. Fast and efficient work. Great crew and wonderful customer service from the beginning of the project until completion. Would most definitely recommend and would use again!

We needed some work done on a neighbor's tree which was brushing the roof of our house, as well as removal of a dead pine tree. Mr. Shifflet was incredibly punctual when providing a detailed estimate, which came in about 10% lower than the other estimate from a company we'd used in the past, jointly with a neighbor, with good results. So based on stellar reviews here (thanks, Yelp) we went with Shifflett Tree Service, with excellent results. The crew arrived within the specified window. They took care of the agreed-upon work, and then did a superb job in raking up the debris/branches, and in putting large branches through their chipper to haul away. Mr. Shifflett is a true professional, and his daughter who handles billing at their office is likewise a cheerful and energetic professional. Our work was done in December, less than 2 weeks after Mr. Shifflett came by to assess & provide written estimate.

I contacted Shifflett because my house had 4 dying trees to be removed prior to this winter. They were friendly and were able to schedule a prompt visit for an estimate. The estimate thoroughly explained the work to be completed, and was provided in writing. They asked for a 10% deposit upon hiring. When it came time to schedule the tree service, several trucks arrived with cars as well, on time. Quite a few people were working to remove the trees, and the whole job was completed very quickly, a couple of hours. They left the area cleaned up of any tree debris, and even warned us that a yellow jacket nest was hidden inside a nearby shrub. I love when family-owned businesses knock bigger establishments out of the park. I will certainly be using this company again. I have heard their price is on the higher side but honestly you get what you pay for.

A few days ago, I looked at this collection of dead shrubs and stumps on my yard and shook my head. How does one get them out, roots and all, without chemicals or harming the surrounding plants? Luckily, a neighbor recommended Shiffelt to come take a look. I called that morning, and even more luckily, the Earnest Shiffelt and his crew were already in my neighborhood and came that same hour to check things out. He gave me a very reasonable quote. 3 days later, his granddaughter and a couple of guys removed all 6 horrible stumps in about 15 minutes. There was no mess and no tree carcasses to deal with. Everyone was extremely professional and punctual. I couldn't recommend them strongly enough.

I had a great experience with Shifflett tree service. We had 3 very large trees removed from the side of our property. The trees were all 30 inches in diameter and stood about 65-70 feet tall. One of the tree was hanging over my neighbors deck and situated tightly between the two houses. Ernie and his team have the right equipment, skills and experience to get the job done right. What an amazing company led by an amazing man! I had 1 birch tree cut down and 4 other trees trimmed as the branches were growing towards my house. After calling several companies and dealing with some no shows :-( Mr Shifflett arrived on time for his appt, gave us an estimate same day and showed up a week later with his crew to do the work. He was even gracious enough to cut about 20 tree slabs for me to use for my event decor business. I truly appreciate the work they did, including my neighbors. They cleaned up after themselves and removed the stump. It's hard to believe a tree was ever there. Least I forget, the amazing customer service we received from his daughter, who answers the calls. I was very impressed with the service I have received. We needed 2 trees removed fast, called Mr. Shifflett, he arrived at the same day for an estimate, gave us a good price. Next day he has arrived in time, trees were removed momentarily. His service is highly professional, people are reliable and well trained. I highly recommend Shifflett Tree Service! This is a family owned and operated business and everyone, from Kim in the office to her father Ernie who owns the company, was extremely easy and pleasant to work with. The crew arrived on time today and did an excellent job removing three large branches from our 60 foot tall weeping willow. They also thinned out the tree beautifully and not only did they clean up all of the leaves and branches after the job was done, but they also raked up a bunch of willow canes that had been on the ground for months. Their price was excellent--$600 as opposed to a bid from a local competitor for $2300! The crew even trimmed two Japanese maples that sit under the willow for the same price. I will definitely hire Shifflett again for any tree related work needed on our property.

The team of workers arrived right on time and did an amazing job in cutting down my diseased trees and cleaning up all the branches and debris after they were done. This family-owned and operated company is by far the very best in the Metro area. They know trees like no one else. Great price, timing and work... the yard looks great now that all those invasives have been cut back a little further from the fence (we live in the middle of a couple of forest preserves and sometimes the forest just creeps in on us!). And the stumps being ground out of the yard make it a safer place to run and play! Hire these folks... but don't blink or you'll miss 'em. They are FAST!

The team came to my home today to remove a tree. Mr. Shifflett came by previously and quoted a very reasonable price. The process was fascinating and everything moved so quickly. They left the yard very clean and we're done in about an hour. I would definitely recommend them or use them again!

I cannot say enough good things abut this company! A large tree in our back yard fell over during a storm last week. We called a couple tree companies recommended to us and Shifflett gave us a very competitive quote. Based on yelp reviews we chose them to do the work for us. Not only did the crew show up immediately, they took the tree down with remarkable professionalism and consideration for our yard and home. They returned, as promised to remove the stump, on time and again with outstanding care and consideration. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Lightening hit the biggest tree in my backyard and left it partially split and threatening to fall on my house. I had used them once before and they were great. Ernest Shifflett came out, gave me an idea on how difficult the job would be and then showed up 2 days later. What I thought was going to take most of the day actually took 2 hours, and the cost was $1,300 less than the estimate. What's more, he's got the hardest working crew in the tree business, and cleaned up beautifully. What's the advertising phrase: As if it never happened?" These guys are great. And it's great to have the boss right there with the crew. I can't imagine a better company, and I can't imagine a job done better. If you're going to spend a lot of money to fix something, it feels good to pay for a job well done.
